This was for a chef who had worked there for three years. I wanted to make something meaningful for her.

I tested options first, then narrowed it down to the angle that worked best.

Process

The counter and the tiles.

I wanted to capture the business of the counter and the reality of the space.

The intense detail I use in most of my work was used more sparingly here, mainly on the tiles in the background of the kitchen.
